Charlotte and I are a good team in the kitchen. She chops, whisks, stirs and blends. And she is a pretty patient toddler overall. I told her I needed her help making banana ice cream, and she was happy to comply. (Big surprise right?) I was floored by how creamy and delicious this turned out. It really tasted like ice cream. And it’s vegan! And dairy free! We both eagerly ate our bowls and I must love my daughter because I shared mine with her after hers was long gone, her spoon licked clean. The best part, it has three ingredients- frozen bananas, chocolate and a teaspoon or two of maple syrup. If you want it sans any sweetener, I recommend also reducing or eliminating the cocoa powder, as it needs some extra sweetness to even it out. I bet a sprinkle of cinnamon on top would be a very very good idea.
2-3 bananas, frozen in chunks
2 tsp cocoa powder
2 tsp maple syrup
Add ingredients to food processor or blender.
Blend and serve in small bowls! Or feel fancy and use tea cups!
