Charlotte’s birthday was filled with sand wanderings and plenty of buckets of sea water. We stayed at Island Hotel and it was a relatively bare bones but sweet hotel at a fantastic price, $79. It was very clean, close to the beach and a decent breakfast was included. For those who are pet minded, they accept pups for a small fee. We really enjoyed it and may have snuck back after check out to take a quick swim in the pool. (Our little secret.)

We ate her birthday dinner at a really good Italian Seafood restaurant called Shells. They had a special kids menu with spaghetti and meatballs that of course, Charlotte adored. I had a very very good seafood Alfredo with tons of fish, mussels, scallops and shrimp. Chris tried their sun dried tomato pasta and really enjoyed it as well. Good service, and happily very kid friendly. The entire restaurant joined in for the birthday song. It was a wonderful, short escape and we look forward to making it again.
